TalkTalk under threat of administration

No real surprise there as they are still and pretty much always have been voted the UK's worst ISP. What did come as a surprise although it probably shouldn't have is it appears to be the ISP of choice for the MoD.

TalkTalk (originally part of the Martin Dawes empire) took over many large ISPs, including PIPEX and AoL UK. The MoD stuff will have been originally with one of the other ISPs they took over.

Pipex was my first ISP, I was with them for many years. During that time I only recall two outages. I received notification of the first from Pipex support which was to upgrade to the infrastructure and the second was down to me redecorating the room.

When Pipex was taken over by Tiscali things went instantly downhill with multiple outages and slow throughput which was a great shame.

I was with Pipex for ages as well.  I think a lot of us came to IDNet from them.
