Oh, indeed, but there are also some gems.

Agreed. This past week has been a bit disappointing, overall, though.

I note at the end of that thread, it seems to be emerging that the site may have been blacklisted by your ISP, MB.  I guess there's not a lot you can do about that, apart from change ISP, unless they can be persuaded to remove the blacklist entry.  I haven't come across anything on the pics site that I would consider to be inappropriate.

It's very frustrating, as others can access it through different ISP's. And I wasn't aware that ISP's had the right to restrict or censor a customers internet browsing.

Does anyone know how to use another ISP's proxy, as someone suggested from the aussie forum.

Quoteworks if you use a telstra proxy: proxy.cache.telstra.net port:3128

Just out of interest MB, browse to www.hidemyass.com then see if if you can get to the pizdaus site from there - it's an anonymous free proxy service  ;)

mistybear

Thanks mad,

I was a little concerned when it took over half an hour to install, and 5 minutes to open the first page, but this is a great site http://pixdaus.com/index.php?sort=new

Finally, but only for three days. But it does prove something, which is what by the way?

Your ISP either has a routing issue to the site or is blocking it, MB.

np misty - glad you were finally able to get to it  :)

mistybear

I don't think I'll keep the program though, as everything is taking a very long time to load. I'm assuming that it is "Hide my IP" that is slowing everything down.

Rik

Hide my beautifully shaped posterior sits between you and websites, MB, so does slow things down a bit. It's a not a program though, just a website you can use - handy to test routing issues.

No wonder it's taking so long....... :out: :hehe:

Sorry, couldn't resist, I'm sure it is beautifully shaped.  :leer:

Thanks, for the explanation as this is all new to me.  :thumb:

it shouldn't slow anything down that much though misty - maybe a couple of seconds - not much more. It's not a program - just a website that you visit, then go on to the website that you want. I've just looked back through the thread, and you mention "half an hour to install" - not sure what you mean by that? You shouldn't have to install anything.

mistybear

Bloody hell, now he tells me.  ;D

I downloaded and installed "Hide My IP 2007" 3 day trial. My current location is America.

You didn't need to do that, MB, but at least you now have an idea of what it feels like to be a Yank. ;)

Sorry misty - obviously a misunderstanding - maybe the name of the site put you off?  ;D

It's so useful because you don't have to install anything, and you can use it completely free whenever you want. www.proogly.com is another one you can use. In either one you just type the address of the website you want in the address bar on the page. :)

mistybear

No probs mad, I often misunderstand, I'll blame the medication.

My brother is a Yank and that's bad enough, and this is as close as I want to get.

Now how many members from America have I offended.  ;D

I went back to the site and entered the website, works well. I'll bookmark both of those as I may need them if my ISP doesn't sort this out.

I did get an email from them, so I'll have to wait and see......

QuoteI already requested our proxy admins to have a look at this. I will update you as soon as I get a feedback from them. Thanks.
