Title: Draft N wireless router
Post by: Steve on Aug 24, 2008, 17:23:03
Having been browsing around some of the offers this weekend I am wondering whether its time to get on the band wagon, obviously I could wait until its ratified just to be certain but I would hope that a unit should be upgradeable to the final version.

Version 2 of this draft is hopefully near to the final version due out next year, March 2009 I believe. I realise that I will need to get some sort of card/dongle for the laptop to gain the maximum benefit. My hope is to get data transfers on my local network for the wireless laptop up to speeds comparable with a 100Mbps ethernet connection.

Anyone any experience or recommendations?

Sorry, no, Steve. I'd been waiting for ratification, and then the 2700 came along...

Same here. I think there's only maybe one or two users here than have "n" equipment, so it might be worth asking over on Think Broadband's DSL Hardware Discussion (http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=dslrouter). :)

Thanks did a search at TB the routers all seem to be a bit of mixed bag with various teething problems, cheapest option I suppose to increase data transfer rate of the laptop is just to buy another homeplug
