Title: Email connection
Post by: wkb21 on Aug 12, 2008, 13:50:48
My idnet.com email connection has been dropping out regularly recently, then restoring again.  Is there a current problem?

None that I know of. Are you talking about the webmail interface, or access via a client? If the latter, which client and how is the mailbox set up, ie POP or IMAP? What AV software are you using?

Webmail with POP.  Don't know what AV is - - .

You're using both the webmail and POP interfaces? Are both dropping out, and if so, exactly what is happening, what error messages are you getting?

AV - Anti Virus.

POP3.idnet.com with Outlook Express.  AntiVirus software is AVG.

Are you getting an error message. We had a case recently where AVG was having an issue with its proxy server.

I'll have to check next time I lose connection.

Will report back.

Thanks.

NP. :)

If you are able to access it during support hours (08:00 - 18:30), give them a call when the problem is present and they can look at what's happening at their end in real time.

POP3.idnet.com with Outlook Express.  AntiVirus software is AVG.

Have you considered upgrading to Windows Live Mail, it is still free and far better than OE.

I use it with AVG, no problems at all. ;)
