Post by: psp83 on Aug 04, 2008, 22:34:55
Is there any good free system test apps? stress test etc.

I've just finished putting my apps onto this new pc.

And i've just also built a new server, never swore so much before while building a server lol. I now want to put it throu a stress test.

There's a couple; Prime95 (http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft.htm) and Orthos (http://sp2004.fre3.com/).

3D Mark and PC Mark (http://www.futuremark.com/) and SiSoft Sandra (http://www.sisoftware.co.uk/)

both offer free and pay versions.  The free ones tend to be restricted in some way.  One thing about 3D Mark, if you want to run the latest version (Vantage) you MUST be using Vista as it is DirectX10.

Not used this one before, but it seems popular with overclockers Everest (http://www.lavalys.com/) trial versions available
