Title: Wireless mouse and keyword problem
Post by: psp83 on Aug 01, 2008, 13:34:42
I have a microsoft wireless mouse and keyboard.

Its forever telling me the signal is low. I've changed the batterys, i've updated the drivers etc etc.

Contacted microsoft and still can't get it sorted.

The receiver can also be placed next to the keyboard/mouse and still get the problem.

So i'm going for a new set and stay away from microsoft ones. Any ideas what ones are good ones and haven't had no problems with?

I have a microsoft keyboard and mouse, to be honest they have a good reputation for hardware, have you got anything that could interfere with it nearby? I used to use Logitech but I hate with a passion their buggy drivers so would never touch one again although others may get on with them fine, my standard ms wireless keyboard and mouse worked 6ft away quite happily, I have a bluetooth one now with its own bluetooth hub which works great.

Logitech cant even make a decent webcam driver, but to be fair its a while since I used a logitech keyboard and mouse setup, but their forums are a scary place to be for issues with some of their stuff. Personally I would never let a Logitech driver onto my system, just look up Logitech driver issues on google, but as In  says he has no issues, or just has not noticed them ;) :out:

Not what i know. I think its a problem with the receiver. As it used to do it all the time with the mouse, but i resynced them again, mouse first and the keyboard is doing it now and the mouse isn't as bad.

I have the following: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/productdetails.aspx?pid=082

How old is the set? To be honest if its within its warranty and its failed they have to replace it, like all things, they can go wrong but mobile phones, cordless phones, can effect wireless kit.

What about the Aldi PC tomorrow, In? You gonna bite?

It's out of the question for me now as my car just cost £320 to get through the MOT yesterday.

I am still giving it serious thought JB, now if only it had an XP option, I would be at their door at 09.00.

Sorry to hear about the car/MOT.... :(

Think our local Aldi opens at 10.00 on a Sunday.

Guess you would need to be there early to grab one of the PC's.
