Title: Mailwasher and IMAP
Post by: Wingco1 on Jun 21, 2008, 20:36:14
I have Mailwasher 1.33 the old freebie. It works great on XP and Vista when accessing pop3 mail servers. My question is, is there any reason why it shouldn't work on IMAP?.

I have the latest Pro version, and can set up an IMAP account with that, but not sure about the free version, as it only takes one account, as far as I know.

The 1.33 version takes several accounts, I have six running on it on my lappy  :). The reason I ask is I tried to set it up on my mates AOL account. The mail server is imap.aol.com whereas Mailwasher asks for a pop3 server. Got the username and password right but it wouldn't/couldn't connect for some reason. Is there any technical reason why?.

Why not try the new free version?

http://www.mailwasher.net/

It states that it supports POP3, IMAP, and AOL Access (whatever that is). Perhaps this early version you've got doesn't have that support.

I think Sebby's probably right, that the earlier versions don't support IMAP.

Just realised mailwasher free is a one account only  :bawl: I'll try it on my mates lappy.
