I just arrived home from a few days away to find my 2Wire sync'd at 3.7Mb with a SNRM of 17dB (some 1Mb lower than I usually get)!
My first reaction was... :eek4:
When I inspected the logs, it seems that I had 2 resync's yesterday and 2 today. Given that my line is usually rock solid, I'm blaming BT as my exchange is due to be WBC'd at the end of this month.
I rebooted the router and everything was back to normal... Strange. :)
It does sound like bt work to me :(
Seconded. They can wreak havoc with a connection (and often the profile as a result). :(
Yep, it'll be a few days before my profile recovers now. :(
This is my biggest problem with max DSL; I feel it needs to be constantly monitored. I really don't feel comfortable going away and leaving it - I'm convinced something will have messed up by the time I get back. That's where the fixed-rate products shine; it's just a shame that the fastest is 2Mb.
I always power the router down if I'm away - but then no-one will be trying to use the connection if I am, so it's simple for me.
I blame BT for everything including global warming.
the amount of times i go to sites twice coz BT send the wrong engineer or an engineer wrongly equipped (and we ensure they are informed of all requirements 2 weeks prior to site visit)
Ive got it down to a fine art now.
the conversation goes as follows.
ME " got a tile lifter"
BT "yes"--Q2 "no" rebook appointment (coz im an awkward sod (i have one)and if they havent got one of these then the next questions will be no as well)
got fence off panels to stop people falling down the tiles your going to lift BT "yes"--Q3 "no" rebook appointment.
got at least 8 pair cable
BT "yes"--Q4 "no" rebook appointment.
got tie wraps
BT "yes"--Q5 "no" rebook appointment
got your photo id on you
BT "yes"--Q6 "no" rebook appointment
got labelling gun
BT "yes"--Q7 "no" rebook appointment
Q7 been here before
BT "yes"--why the fu** didnt you say "no" makes a change most engineers fail by the 3rd question.
Dean
You're just mean, Dean. ;D

If it happens again take a peak at your "Training History" before you go for the reboot. ;)
