Title: Webcams
Post by: Danni on Jun 16, 2008, 10:08:37
I need to buy two decent webcams. I need one to work with Vista, and one to work with Linux (I'm keeping the Linux one, giving the Vista one to Sammie's grandparents so we can see each other on MSN).

I currently have a cheapy webcam from about 2003, which works out of the box on Linux (and we can't find the drivers anymore for Windows) but the quality is very poor. I want something with much better quality and I'm willing to spend a bit more for it.

Anyone got any suggestions? I would rather get two the same, so if you suggest a decent one for Vista I can check for Linux compatibility.

Sorry, Danni, never found a use for the beasts. :( However, most people seem to recommend the Logitech brand.

The Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 recommended on there is supported in Linux, so it definitely looks like a decent choice. Thanks Rik :)
