Basically i've done pretty much the same as i always do.
Download vista x64 driver
Run it
Plug in printer when asked
Only this time the program doesnt find it and vista goes through the whole "Cannot find drivers" routine :thumbd:
any ideas? >:(
vista x64 driver here;
maybe wants re-installing.
http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?oid=60202&infoType=Downloads
Tried so many times now
Same thing
Windows asks to check online for drivers, then checks system then asks for disk then gives me the old "Check manuf website"
Last time I had vista x64 on it installed flawlessly :rant2:
Just tried it with a HP c3180...
followed instructions and got the same problem...
looks like i may have fudged up on the vista front
any ideas b4 i get bored an format (again)
suggest remove all references to printer (disconnect printer too). Re-boot.
Note ... some printers require the usb connx made before installing software, others insist software is present before making usb connx. (This is especially applicable to epsons where the software writers can't make up thir minds.
This prob sounds like the installed drivers are corrupt at the mo. and there are tag ends of the corruption floating around even after removing everything applicable. Perhaps ccleaner will root things out before re-installing.
Epson printers win 1st prize (every time) for hiccups tho. I must admit I've stuck with them for over 20 years.
jftr I use the search for files and folders/epson/ and delete everything within sight and 'tis amazing what's still floating around after a supposed uninstall...... bit like norton av I suppose.
Wish you luck.
How about going to Device Manager? The printer should have an exclamation mark by it, and you can update the driver - just point it to the drivers you've unzipped.
Another thought, switch off av software, ad aware, what have you, etc etc before re-installing. I've trolled the net a bit and some people have had probs caused by the above. Might be best to do this and follow Sebby' advice 1st.
thanks guys
tried it but im now putting it down to removing i shudnt have using vlite
im current redoing vlite and ensuring i leave all services and anything that cud be remotely linked to printers alone :bawl:
ahh well karma guys
just redone vlite
seen an option for printer support which i must have removed last time...
:grn:
I hope you have more luck this time! :)
Yea,
last time when i made the iso on the remove components section i checked the whole hardware section as I didnt see the printer bit
A bit more careful this time
Operator error... ;D
Picnic time. ;)
Out of interest, did you slipstream SP1? I tried it with vLite and it worked, but it sure is a long process compared with an XP service pack!
yes i did
and yes i left it going overnight lol
:hehe:
