Does any kind person know of a free INTERNET vulnerability checker on line I can access, I want to try the windows firewall and my router firewall.
Try:
http://www.symantec.com/norton/sygate/index.jsp
It used to be the Sygate scanner, otherwise I wouldn't be recommending it. ;)

Thank you gentlemen. :ithank:
Nice one, Doc. :thumb:
The Symantic one seems to be having trouble with their server at the mo Rik, but the one from Doc is working fine thank you gents, I want to try and rely on the windows firewall and the one that came in the router and take Comodo out it has become a bit of a nuisance and I am sure it's slowing my system down.
No problems with Comodo here.

Well it's out now, and it may be my imagination but the system does seem slightly faster, and I wont miss those pop ups asking me what seems to be the same question over again. Of course the test is now will anything nasty get through. :eek4:
You only need to tick them as safe in the left hand pop up box, they don't come back then.
I can honestly say that I never noticed any slowing down after installing Comodo.
I just tried the Symantec checker. Not impressed at all. It tells me I have no anti-virus installed..... but I do. Symantec's very own Norton Anti-Virus 2008!!

Did the same with me so I decided not to trust it.
best online one out there, these tools are port/os/service scanners, they don't do vulnerability checks, the same goes for grc.com etc.....
The default settings will do, but can can play around with it a lot, it has many capabilities.
http://nmap-online.com/
might as well ad these.
they will do internal scans on your network and will try to find vulnerabilitys.
