Is there any way with this BB software to have a collasped thread view? This is particularly useful if you just want to go to the unread messages at the end of a thread. The problem with all posts being open, is that it makes for HUGE pages to scroll down through, particularly if the post is one line and yet the signature is 15. There may be a way to do this, but I haven't spotted it yet.
Sorry, but afaik, it can't be done in SMF.

Pity... I find it a bit annoying, particularly on long threads! :(
If you click no 'new' within the subject body, after clicking unread messages, it takes directly to the messages you haven't yet seen.
Hope this helps.
Can you expand on that, Malc. I don't see a new link, except when using the 'Show unread' link.

He wants to see the unread messages at the end of the thread, so click on new and it goes directly to unread posts in that topic.

If you click the icon with the arrow to the far right, it will take you straight to the end of the thread.

You're kidding!! That's what I
always use, and have been since the old YaBBSE days! I never actually use the Index page of the forums, I just have the Unread Posts link as my bookmark, and always come in that way.

I'm not sure that there could be an easier way, Doc, and as Rik said, if you go to the (http://www.idnetters.co.uk/forums/Themes/default/images/icons/last_post.gif) link on the right of the Unread Posts page, it will take you to the last post, regardless of what you have or haven't yet read. The (http://www.idnetters.co.uk/forums/Themes/default/images/english/new.gif) button takes you to the first new post you haven't read in a thread. :)

I knew about the " Unread Posts " Simon, I always use that, I didn't know about the clicking on " new " feature. ;)
Sorry In, that wasn't supposed to be quite as mocking as it came across.

It's OK Simon, I can always report such posts to the Admin Team as abusive,... ;D ;D
:hehe:
Thanks, Malc, I've never noticed that! That'll be particularly useful for me as I don't subscribe to email notifications anymore. :karma:
