OK chaps, I've just received and set up my "experimental" single ssid 2700hgv (using it now )
Stats are virtually identical to my dual ssid ;D
Hardware Version 2701-100588-005
Firmware 4.25.33
The question is, which Firmware do i flash it with? I have both the SBC and the Singtel versions.
I'm thinking as its experimental i might try the Singtel, what do you think?
AFAIK, you can use v5 firmware on single SSIDs, but not v4 on dual SSID.
And we know how the SBC performs, Ted.
It does. The only thing that would put me off is the 12 day/300 hour thing.
Mmmm,
I dont get the 12 Day thing on my SBC single

I was just going to ask if this affected all singles but obviously it doesn't ;D
Sebby and I both do. Curious...
Yes weird,
I saw a post on this a while back but did not get around to posting but have kept an eye on my unit for quite a while and have had a rock solid constant connection always, no reboot, no resynch no nothing.
Great really.............. 8)

It's odd, Red, because the router definitely re-boots, I've watched it do it. Now all we have to do is work out the difference between yours and mine. ;)
Yes a weird one,
Having spent way to many hours with a netgear and a DMT tool I am very pleased to not have to worry about the 2700 router I use and whether it will hold out for a few more hours, I rarely check it now cept a few logs etc but its now at 76 days.......................... The data for the synch etc is the same from day 1 as to now and no synch etc errors etc in the log.
A mystery !!!

Maybe it's the error count which triggers it?
Could well be, Rik. I know that we both have lines that are less-than-perfect. :)
It would make a kind of sense that, if the router detects more than X errors at 300 hours it triggers a re-boot. Now, all we need do to prove it is that Red and I swap routers. :)
My solution was to buy a dual SSID.
That would be the other way. :)
But a dual SSID wouldn't prove or disprove the error count idea! Only swapping with Red would!!!
I agree. Where's Red gone? ;D
He's gone away. He doesn't like people trying to take his router. :P
Wise man. :)
Hands Off !!!
;D ;D ;D ;D
I do get errors logged but would not know what level might trigger it ?

I have 10.7M after a week, FEC.
I've had a mere 45,000 corrected errors in a week.
I told you my line was rubbish. :) I'm beginning to see a phenomenon I noticed last summer. On warm/hot days, I'm getting noise spikes of 1-3db during the day, which makes me think there's an air-con unit around somewhere.
That sounds like a strong possibility, Rik. :(
Now all I have to do is find it, then persuade someone to do something about it. :sigh:
I've got 24.8m FECs after 37.5 days 8)
Ok I checked
I get approx 65000 per day FEC's

Thankfully, FECs are not a concern; it's the uncorrected errors that can cause problems with throughput.
