Title: Slow speeds (not IDNet) ;)
Post by: maxping on Nov 03, 2006, 17:25:13
I have noticed my connection has seemed slow over the last few days , I'm only getting 1945 Kbps in the speed tests and the Exchange checker HERE (http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/) is showing -

Virtual paths: Red

BT is reporting that some of the virtual paths at this exchange are not operating within BT Wholesale's planning guidance, although they are still operating within the product specification.

At busy times, your ADSL connection may operate at a reduced speed, although not all customers on your exchange may be affected. You should only contact support if there is no current ETA date set.

The ETA fix time is: 27 Oct 06

Record last updated: 23 Oct 06

How can i find if the work has been done as the above report is out of date?

Try waiting patiently   :D

You could try Zens checker  http://status.zensupport.co.uk/exchanges/ which seems to get refreshed more frequently.

My exchange went Red in October for the first time in my memory and was due to be updated on 28th October.

I'm just as keen as you are to see the data refreshed.

Heres Simon's reply to my EMail -

We have never found a definitive place to discover if BT have actually
completed the work or not.

Regards
Simon

I think its a case of just keep checking, try here - http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php its not showing  Exchange capacity information for mine you may have more luck.
