Title: OO!
Post by: Niall on Apr 24, 2008, 22:47:23
I was just downloading a file, and apparently whatever was slowing down my line recently, has totally gone.

I was just getting a constant speed of 740-750kB/sec :)

I think that's the best I've seen in the last few years. The best ever was 781 when I first went to max on Nildram, but considering the amount of people in this area that are now on ADSL compared to then, I'm well pleased with that. Yay!

Good stuff, I don't think its been a IDNet problem, as the odd file I've got recently has been going full speed, just checked the one I'm DLing ATm and it's running at 815-825  :thumb:

It wasn't an IDnet thing as far as I'm aware, as everything else seemed fine, apart from the odd slow web page.

I think there was some sort of interference at this end, plus I have a feeling that the Wrexham exchange was up to something.

It's threads like these that make me think BT are to blame again. After all, IDNet haven't added extra capacity recently, so there's no reason why things should be faster now than they were, say, a week ago.

I downloaded Ubuntu tonight at about 450k/sec. 8)

I set a 12gig file going last night, all finished when I got up  :thumb:

If it was ID we'd all be having the same prob.

I set a download going last night when I went to bed to test the speed through the night, and I forgot to monitor it. I'm clever :D
