Now ive looked at samknows many times but just noticed if you go to your exchange page here (http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php) to find your exchange, go to details of your exchange then right at the bottom is a box to put your email address in to receive any notifications about your exchange.
very handy, should help people hence why im putting it here.
Handy link, Dean. :) :thumb: :karma:
What puzzles me, though is:
BT Wholesale has set an enablement date of 18/11/2008 for their 21CN Wholesale Broadband Connect product at the Wolverton exchange
BT have set a target date of Q2 2010 for the switch to 21CN for the Wolverton exchange
I wonder how they can deliver one before the other? (I went for the RSS feed, btw.)
Thanks for that g. I check the site every so often, but had never noticed that :thumb:
Anyway, that has brought up a question - for my exchange the site is showing
21CN WBC status: RFS date set: 19/05/2009
yet,
21CN PSTN switchover target: Q3 2011 .
Anyone know what the difference between these is, and what they mean to the humble hoob at the end of the line?
Edit - obviously typing virtually the same thing at the same time as Rik
Odd, I just asked the same question. :)
Either "great minds think alike", or "fools rarely differ" - take your pick ;D
Does 21CN come with an all new integrated voice card/DSLAM or are they still separate? If they're separate then maybe they're going to switch the ADSL over and change the transport for the voice cards later?
Cheers,
Paul.
Could be, Paul, and could be behind the BT work that's been going on.
That is useful. Thanks, Dean. Supposedly, my exchange is getting WBC in June 2008, and 21CN switchover is Q4 this year.
and the information at my exchange is unavailable
booooooooooooooooooooooooooo
thats what i get for living in the middle of no where
Same here Colin, another Post Code Lottery, targeted at the usual masses.

Only... :legpull: Mad, I don't have a problem with Hoobs, all good fun. ;D
I know mate - it's only Welsh Den that we've got to watch out for >:D
Jerry keeps trying to stir things up, but I can keep him under control pretty easy with me trusty hoobyhammer ;)

His bark is far worse than his bite Mad, I've trodden on his toes a few times, but he doesn't bear a grudge .. ( I hope ). ;)

The WBC is described
here (http://www.samknows.com/broadband/21cn_broadband.php); whilst WBC and PSTN are both part of the 21CN programme their infrastructures are due to be completed at different times
Useful link, Alan, thanks. :thumb:
Interesting link Alan - hadn't noticed that. I do notice, however, that the minimums are still being set ludicrously low >:(
