If anyone has any "broke" 2700's with physical faults.
NOT FLASHED A DUAL SSID WITH SBC AND BROKE IT. (although one of these would be nice to see if i can re-flash properly)
And you have had a replacement and got it working.
can i have it please (ill pay postage)?
if you have a psu fine if not do not worry.
Why you may ask? well im trying to get hold of every version of the 2700 for investigation purposes, I have repaired a couple and these are now being used for firmware testing. the more i have the more firmwares i can have on tap for testing. i am particularly trying to get voip working.
so far i have a 2700 single ssid with voip (my main one) and a 2700 single ssid without voip and an 1800 (without voip).
anyone?
PM me.
It costs about £2-£3 (depending on psu or not) to post the cheapest way and i can pay instantly via paypal or send out a cheque (once you know how much postage was).
I gaurantee you won't see them (after i have repaired them-if possible) on fleabay
Cheer's Dean G7PKF...oh and i live nr Milton Keynes
Also if anyone has firmware files can you email me them please?

I'll have another 2700 you can have for the price of postage in a few days, Dean. This one actually works, too. ;)

You not like the 2700?
yes would love to add to the collection.
what type is it? dual single and/or voip?
I love it, but I just bought a dual SSID off of eBay. ;)
My current 2700 is a single SSID, 2Wire badged (like the other one I sent you).

sbc 4.25.19 hacked and normal. but
lots of firmwares (http://download.cms.2wire.com/DOWNLOAD/upgrade/0222abb72eb946bfbd3f5a15abc4eb51/)
Has anyone ever mentioned obsession to you, Dean? ;D
Yes but im not allowed to talk about it as i go on and on
That's an impressive number of firmwares! I did click on a few different links as well and found a hotfix discription which appears to have been a UI update. I wonder if that is the update Rik received!
Most of those are not firmwares per se, but the building blocks from which the likes of BT build their Firmwares and Provisioning.
peeps on a Singtel forum have destroyed any number of 2700s using them to try and update their firmware.
the only proven real updates found there start 2wire_reinstalletc, otherwise it's a great gamble.
The Singtel update 2wire_reinstall_voice_5.29.117.3.2sp works well on both single and double SSID models, but there are no really useful additional features, other than you now have 6 wireless power settings.
The MCD password for the Singtel is 2wire (lowercase)
Well spotted.
Yes i did realize they were not all firmwares.
do you know if the sigtel one gets the voip working out of the box or is it still hidden away (like in the sbc hacksed version)?
I thought it's possible to setup VoIP with the BT firmware. I'm sure I read it on The Scream...
Perhaps that post with everything summarised may shed some light. :)

The BT and Singtel dual SSID both let you set up VOIP on this Page (http://192.168.1.254/xslt?PAGE=V03&THISPAGE=A11&NEXTPAGE=V03)
Both work fine with non BT VOIP providers

Have you/do you play with firmwares a lot?
I am just starting on the 2700

Not really, I am happy enough loading different proven firmwares and then seeing what is what with them.
Editing and compiling firmwares yourself is a costly business replacing routers if you don't have someone readily available to fix a killed BIOS, so I leave all of that well alone.
Thats why i really want one that someone has broke.
just to see if i can fix it, there must be a way proberly using the j interface (thats what i call it located inside the router)
I am not going to break one on purpose :o
Get Simon to have a poke around inside his, Dean. That should do the job. ;D :out:
 :basil:
You've been following the PC thread then, Mo. ;)
:zip: :sigh: :getwell:

Have a read of
this post (http://www.the-scream.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=208077&postcount=542) at The Scream, Smiggy seems to be doing the same thing as you.
Read all
this topic (http://sin.wpool.com/forum-replies-archive.cfm/808533.html) too
"2wire2700 jtag" in Google pulls up lots of links worldwide
Yes.
read and contributed on those threads
although i am not smiggy i do have other aliases.
the only thing really holding me back is i refuse to "break" a perfectly good router.
hence the requirement for a broke dual ssid (ill even pay poatage)
Dean
G7PKF
Any firmwares greatly appreciated.
I have a couple of known to work ones.
but there seem to be a few "claiming" to be the same knocking around.
pm me and ill send out my email of where to send them.

Still looking for a dual ssid thats been broke!!
this little beasts are great :)
I've got a dual-SSID that I'm willing to part with, but it's not broke, so I'd want a sensible sum for it. ;)
Ta but got a working 1.
I hate breaking working equipment, looking 4 a broke 1
I can understand that. :)
I have 3 2700's. one with maybe a broken solder joint on the adsl port as it 95% of the time goes red when connected. The other two are ok except they connect at 15db snr, and i need 6db. All 3 are branded at&t. I will want to keep at least one but 3 is overkill. I work in MK if this makes things easier
I will quite happily take the broke one off your hands.
as i have 3 working ones and if i cannot fix it it will be usefull for rirmware testing (check they load before trashing a good one).
I could pick it up from you monday as i live near MK (and am on holiday Monday).
Regards
Dean
PS sent you a pm with my contact details
