right heres one for you lot.
system was on yesterday but not doing anything. Me sitting at the desk somehow managed to rest my paperwork what I was doing on the keyboard and must have caught the volume button...up.......all the way up.
didnt remember to turn it down(forgot more likely  ) then when one of my lads went on he put headphones on and nearly killed his eardrums :D :D :D :D :D.
anyway this has now made the sound flick from one channel to the other noticably more when using headphones. any ideas.
just onboard sound so nowt flash but spoils it now. its the same when using the front or back output jack
That's an odd one, Baz. Do the headphones work normally from another source? I'm just wondering if they were damaged and, in turn, caused damage to the sound chip.
yes they do Rik as do another pair we tried on the computer in case thats what had happened.
it seems to flick more when you touch or gently move the lead as if its a dodgy connection
I suppose it's possible that the current damaged the socket... This sounds like one for Sandra. :)
ok thanks Rik. does that mean I'll have to shoot over to Simons or does Sandra get in here now after our post about it the other day ;)
I've never seen her here, Baz, and someone else here may have an idea - it's just me that doesn't. :(
I had the same idea that the headphones may have been damaged, but as Rik said, Sandra or Sam may pick up on something. :)
I've done exactly that with my Sennheiser PC150s once. Exactly what you are describing happened to them. Sometimes the damage doesn't show up immediately either.
I had a Hi-Fi speaker like that, Niall, a Mission as well! If one particular frequency went through it, it buzzed, but never at any other time. Unfortunately, the frequency, whatever it was, is used quite frequently in movie sound, so it simply had to go.
You could have put your speaker in the Missionary position.
It is - in the garage! ;D
