very cool, if you want a new media player, worth looking at,
http://www.songbirdnest.com/
Bears a passing resemblance to iTunes. ;)
with extensions though rik :) http://addons.songbirdnest.com/, a lot of cool features in it
Oh, I'm not disagreeing, I'm just curious that they've chosen to mimic the look so much.
keeping those dam apple heads happy
Probably helps with the inertia factor, of course.

I'm here mate - can't wait 2 minutes can ya? ;D
I'll have a good look at that this weekend - looks really good :)
It looks great - just what i've been looking for in fact. :thumb:
Only trouble is that it crashes everytime I run it, and makes my machine run like a bag of spanners >:(
Real shame :(
How does a bag of spanners run? ;D

Not very well - they haven't got very long legs you see ;)
Ah, the haggis syndrome. :)
Haggis have a syndrome named after them? :eek4:
Haggii are a syndrome. :)
hope its justa beta thing mate, u get any errors?
Didn't look to be honest - just says it's crashed and do I want to send a report. I'll try it again and see if that tells me anything. You recovered yet mate?
Edit: Well, it's running again, and to give you some idea of how much it affects my PC, it's taken over 3 minutes to get to this page to post this!!! On the good side, it's managed not to crash yet....... ;D
thats a good excuse for an upgrade mate, you know you want to,

Tell me about it - still felt a bit rough last night - didn't stop me eating everything in sight though ;)
I've left my PC and swapped to the laptop - got fed up of waiting half an hour for everything. Might try it on here actually - if it's fine on here I think you may well be right - time for a new desktop. ;D
Well - gone back to my desktop to see how it's doing. It's not crashed as such this time - just decided that it doesn't want to respond to anything, with the CPU usage sitting nicely at a constant 100%.
Real pity, because it does look to be really good :sigh:
Can you see what process is eating the CPU, Mad?
Installed this earlier, well actually all you need to do is unpack the zipped file and run it straight out of the box, no installation required.
Have to say i'm fairly impressed by it, couple of small bugs but nothing worth worrying about ;D
Runs pretty quick with the integral browser, highly configurable using the GStreamer media core engine. Looks nice as well.
Good find So, :karma:
That's on Linux BTW
Thought of a name yet, Ted?

Got a couple i'm dwelling on. Any suggestions?
On second thoughts, perhaps not!! :hehe:
Very wise. ;)
Just me that's having problems with it then - story of my life :(
Think Jerry's right (for once ;)) - tis time for a new machine - been thinking about it long enough, but being a Yorshireman, I don't like opening my wallet too much - except for beer of course, but then that goes without saying ;D
You drink from your wallet?? :o
The sbmetadata.dll file crashes each time I try to run Songbird >:(
Any particular error message, Glenn?

You ought to try it some time Rik ;D
AppName: songbird.exe AppVer: 1.9.0.2979 ModName: sbmetadatahandlertaglib.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0004707b
Clearly meant to be helpful, Glenn. :(

I did once - the notes went all soggy and my driving licence hasn't been the same since. :)
It means something to the devs I would think

It's not just me then - hurrah!!(Sorry Glen :)).
Gonna try it on my laptop I think but better check whether it's vista compatible first I suppose :)

Did you bother sending a report Glenn or not? I did until the 5th time it crashed on me, and had got fed up by that point... :(
Good luck, you two. :)

Thanks Rik - might need it ;)
The reports are sent to MS so I don't think they will be of much interest to them
Is there no way to send them to the developers?

Ah rite - I thought they went to the developers. Not much point really then is there?
Try reporting bugs Here (http://bugzilla.songbirdnest.com/)
