Title: OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I would not be happy with "this"
Post by: Dont mention Talk Talk !! on Mar 20, 2008, 20:11:34
poor sod  :o

Time     ISP                       SYNC  Result
20:03  Virgin Media (Cable)  24480  1577

Thats equally on a par with an adsl max speedtest for TalkTalk I once got that was sub 100k

How can VM maintain a straight face and charge a customer for a service like that !!

It's easy once you have taken the money. :(

This seems to be very common with VM at present. What I find frustrating is that they plaster the newspapers with adverts about cable using fibre optic cable and not slowing down if you're further from the exchange. All this might be true, but they're offering a service that provides slower speeds than a BT user who is some distance from the exchange!

They're going to be (if not already) the next to join the Talk Talk/Orange/Tiscali type of ISP who are completely driven by money. >:(

I wouldn't touch Virgin, not even the cable variant. Their claims of 20Mb broadband are, quite frankly, meaningless, given the speed issues that have been going on for several months now. :(
