Title: email spam filtered?
Post by: gingerjedi on Mar 18, 2008, 11:05:22
Does Idnet filter spam from its pop servers? I only have the basic 'idnetfreemail' but a recruitment consultant who wants to send me some job details says whenever he tries to send me email my address is rejected or blocked?

I havent blocked anything this end so I'm guessing either he's got the address wrong or Idnet are blocking it somehow?

It's entirely possible that his servers are blocking the idnetfreemail address because of the word free. Try setting up and idnet, com address for yourself and see if that works.

Thanks Rik, lightning quick as ever!

I didn't know idnet.com was available? It sounds far more professional than freemail.

Go to your account pages, select email, and you can set it up from there. It was launched last April:

Each box can have hold 100MB, there's a 10MB limit on attachments (larger than most providers), you can have as many boxes as you like and you can set up spam filtering and forwarding to suit your needs.
