It's a bit of a joke, isn't it, Noreen. I suspect BT is doing this to conceal their own shortcomings.

Yes, I wonder if they ever read the forums devoted to BT. >:D

I'm sure they try to avoid such places.

I just have a suspicion that the timing of this is something to do with a lack of investment in the current network as they plough ahead with 21CN. We've started to see members reporting speed variations which we know have to be down to BT, but BT won't admit any fault. It's a bit of a coincidence.  :eyebrow:

They're not really known for their ability to admit that they are ever at fault are they, Rik? I say that even though I have a nephew who is an engineer with BT Outreach, he's a very hard working and conscientious chap (helped me a lot unofficially >:D).

The engineers on the ground are good people in my experience, Noreen, and will try to help the customer as much as they can. The bean counters, otoh, are only interested in their margins, not the service. :(

Quite funny really, as it was BT that was promising the Earth from maxDSL in the first place  >:D

Yeah - too dainty little ones - not too small to step on mouses and squish them though   ;)

But are they proof against a determined mouse armed with a chain saw?
