Title: Multiple static ip problem
Post by: martin on Oct 16, 2006, 15:21:35
I was recently given 6 static addresses to use for various things and I've set it up and I'm not sure if its just today or since i set it up but i have a problem. I've set up the router with the address supplied and the other addresses on various devices but I cannot recieve incoming connections to any address i was given.
There are no entries on my routers firewall log of incoming connections since I set it up. I can
connect to websites, etc ok so it's clear that the packets have a route back to me.
I did a traceroute from a server in germany which went as follows:

traceroute to 212.69.44.XXX (212.69.44.XXX), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets

I had no problems with incoming connections when I just had 1 address but I needed to avoid NAT for some things.
The connections are not just failing to get to me from one address but many. Any ideas anyone? Is it likely just me being stupid?
I sent an email to idnet also.
