Nothing here Gary, I'm on dsl4 ;).
That happened to Paul the other night, Gary. I think it's the scheduled BT work.

Very similar pattern to yours.
very true, i was wondering though surely I would have lost sync as well, which i didn't do as it remained connected at 5088 ???
Paul specifically said he just lost PPP, which is what you seem to have done, Gary. Which suggests they're working on the backhaul side of the DSLAMs to me.

Cheers for your advice Rik, wonder what all the work is for, I know our exchange is due to go all 21st century this year but as our exchange is not even in the red it makes you wonder what the backhaul work is for ???
Anyway Night Rik for the second time :sleepy: bed is calling
It's BT, Gary - I doubt even they know. :)
However, my suspicion is that it ties into the Tuesday work, "The work is required for an IOS router upgrade, configuration and fibre changes."
Night Gary.. ;)
After reading this thread, I checked as I'm on gw5 and....................

Given the variation in days and times, it doesn't look to be a GW5 issue, so I'm still convinced in my mind that it's the BT work going on...
Jut called IDNet and they were not aware of any work going on their end or with their network so looks like BT fiddling in the exchange probably >:(
Which we know is happening until March 20.
Very true, and the Gw5 situation a week or so ago was different to this one so it looks like noreen and I were having exchange work done, I hope that was it, at night I tend to webcam with my friends in the states and Canada so its a pain, but at least it was quick and to be fair most people are asleep that time of night in the UK so would not be affected ;D
We know the work is being done between midnight and 6am, and is supposed to result in downtime of 20 minutes, though bT may have been using a worst case scenario in setting that period.
I imagine they would to cover themselves, 6 mins is hardly a long time really :)
I started losing my connection last night, already today its went down 4 times, im always connected at 6.4, last night i was connected at 5.6mbps and right now im connected at a shocking 3.8mbps, hopefully it gets sorted quick
That's a different issue to the one we're seeing, which doesn't involve any loss of sync. If you're losing sync, and it's outside the midnight - 6am window, can you post your line stats please.
How do i go about posting my line stats Rik, anyways turned pc of for an hour or so came back and its back to normal again
Check for instructions for your router here:
http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/frogstats.htm
The things we are most interested in are downstream attenuation, noise margin and sync speed.
