IDnet please be aware that things are moving here very quickly indeed. Have only been using this forum for a month or so now but it is very noticeable the influx of new customers and enquirers has increased dramatically.
Basically good for IDnet financially BUT please, please, please do NOT go down the road of Pipex who had a similar scenario as yourselves a few years ago i.e reliable, no nonsense, good CS and very highly thought of.
One recognises the finances of the situation and no doubt you are aware of the situation but try to understand the needs of the genuine punter and keep things on an even keel, otherwise you will go the same way as all the others.
The warning signs are there NOW......more income......lovely.......but eventually loss of integrity within the ISP world.
DON'T lose your integrity under any circumstances.
more money = more upgrades hopefully ;D
Quandam IDNet have been going for 10 years in the business sector , i don't think a few extra punters are going to upset the apple cart.
CS has been the same here for close to 1 year and in that time i only know of 2 people who have left (both last week due to ping issues).
I don't imagine the business customers use Customer Support very often unlike us picky gamers who rely on a decent ping and are straight onto CS if the pings get to high.
As i said i don't think things will change for the worse, they are already advertising for another support worker so obviously are keen to keep the high quality support we are all used to here. ;)
I moved here in January this year and in between signing up and being connected to IDNet they introduced the caps. Simon explained that they were getting a number of very heavy users signing up and that they were unable to bear the costs incurred by these people on IDNet's BT centrals.
I thought that this was a very sensible commercial decision, particularly as IDNet honoured the unlimited obligation until the end of the current month for those who had signed up for it.
Common sense and integrity, something seen all too rarely in business these days !
But the real d/l nutters are going for AOL because they don't care about CS and only want unlimited bandwidth.

I think we all hope that you are right. At the moment it is a joy to be associated with IDnet and their great staff and long may it remain so.
I think IDNet got the cap spot on at 30GB , any more and it would have been tempting for the "download the whole internet" types , i have only come close to my cap once and will probably not get close again until we get BBC Multicast .
I can see that eating a fair bit of my allowance ;)
Didn't I read somewhere on here that IDnet does support multicast?
But even then, it's not all that brilliant. The quality is nothing like real TV. Plusnet supported it (sort of) at one time, but it was no great loss when they gave it up. I watched a bit of the Olympics (I think it was) on it when I didn't have digital TV and it was better than not watching it at all, but that's about it.
