The next major update to Microsoft's Internet Explorer website browser (v8) is due for release before the end of Q2-2008 and recent reports on ActiveWin suggest that the first beta may be about to surface. IE8 is expected to contain security improvements and some as yet unspecified feature additions, although most webmasters will be more interested in the browsers improved adherence to W3C web-design standards.
The report claims that Micrsoft will reveal new details about IE8 during next weeks Mix conference in Las Vegas. Meanwhile Firefox v3 recently released its third beta test client and is fast approaching release candidate stage, with the official launch being set to follow around the same time as IE8.

Oh joy, yet another round of MS nagging us to update. :(

ohh really like we believe it will work
Hail fellow cynic. :)
I like IE7 ;D
So do I Den, provided I don't actually have to use it. ;)
I like the tabs in IE7, have never used anything but IE, so don't really know what I'm missing - if anything
The better tabs in Firefox, Malc. :)
Tried Firefox, Tried Opera, Tried IE7 Pro, Then went back to IE7 far better ;D
I'll give IE8 a try, out of curiosity, but I'm guessing for each step it's taken, Firefox has taken two or three. ;)
it'll take something special to drag me away from Seamonkey :thumb:
Me too, Doc, only for some reason, SeaMonkey won't work on my Vista laptop, so I have to use Firefox / Thunderbird. I have SM on my desktop. I like suites. :)

I much prefer opera to the others - much quicker than IE7, and the last time I tried Firefox (though i will freely admit that it was a while ago so don't know if they have improved it) I quickly grew tired of all the firefox pop ups asking if i really wanted to do what I was trying to do.

They certainly have improved Firefox, and Firefox 3.0, which is imminent, and now available in Beta, looks to be better still. You can turn off the pop ups, Mad. ;)
I've found myself using Firefox more and more since I installed 3.0 beta, but I'll certainly give IE8 a go.
I think it will be hard not to, Seb. Just to confirm how good Firefox is! >:D
