OE compacts after 100 open and close sessions as part of its behaviour, just press yes then it will not do it again till you have used it 100 times, it does this to avoid corruption and you do not lose any messages, If you are fully patched, you will also now see a copy of your dbx files
being copied to the Recycle Bin as BAK files. Should something go wrong when compacting, the messages can easily be restored from this backup. A manual
compact will also reset the counter in the registry back to zero now. For more information look here, http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general/msg/116b57f27c55bd59 (http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general/msg/116b57f27c55bd59)
I have never had issue with OE doing this and just let it do its thing, better it does this than corrupt the mail database, or let it grow far to large
