Does anyone use this software or know anything about it.
corel (http://www.ecostsoftware.com/uk/shop/pc/viewPrd.asp?pid=3288)
and why is there such a difference in price between that site and this site (http://www.microwarehouse.co.uk/catalogue/item/CORPCP28)
thanks
I think the second site is an upgrade version, Baz, even thought they don't say so. Elsewhere it's typically priced at £150-250.
I've not used Painter, I've been a long time user of Draw and it's an excellent program. As I then gained access to Adobe software, I've tended to use their stuff more.
I cant figure it Rik. the second site ,on the specification tab and then under Overview says its License Type: Complete package ??? ???
Micro Warehouse are a pretty reputable firm, Baz, but I think that has to be a mistake, it's the price everyone else is selling the upgrade for. OTOH, if you can establish written proof that it's the full version, then what have you got to lose?
some sites class it as Standard, Academic or edu/educational. whats that mean?
Educational software is sold at much lower prices, but you generally need evidence that you are in education, as a student or teacher. Often, though, there is no upgrade path.
As the law stands, as long as Micro Warehouse agree to make the sale, then they must provide what you are buying. As the website quite clearly says full version, that is what they must send to you. They can be deemed to have agreed to make the sale either at the point of charging or point of dispatch.
There was someone in PC Pro who brought a NAS advertised as having 4 * 500gb drives. When it arrived and didn't have the drives, he complained. The company asked him to send it back and then sent a replacement. This too didn't have the drives. In the end, it transpiries that it was actuallly listed incorrectly and the company said it would provide the full refund. However, the person involved got his lawer on the case and it ended up with the company sending out the drives.
It's an Educational package by the looks of it, if you look at the specification the License pricing is listed as Academic. ;)
yeah thats what I have found out Sheltie thanks, can you find anywhere that asks for proof of evidence of your educational status?
Sorry, missed this somehow. Educational packages are often a voucher in a large box. You then have to send off to the software house with proof of eligibility to get the software.
well, it may be too late now as my daughter has ordered it :) .she got a call from Microwarehouse about the order, for something else, they said that proof od educational status may be needed, didnt say what though.
Dont know what she's going to do about it :D :D
You have 7 Days to send it back if it ain't suitable. ;)
And go and look for it on a bit torr, no never mind. ;)
oh of course guys :)

not up on this unfortunately
Don't forget, though, that the Distance Selling Regs don't apply if you open the software, Baz, so read the outside of the box carefully.
