Hi to all i just placed my migration order and should be active on the 21st. I have a few questions however and wondered if they could be answered here.
1). I have requested the supermax package as i would like to benefit from the 832Kbps upload speed but could anyone tell me can i actually get it on these line stats....
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8128 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 24 db 5.5 db
Noise Margin 6 db 22 db
2) Also with my previous provider i have had a very stable line and always sync at the full 8128 as you can see from above, from the My Account details with them i could keep track of what was happening with my line and it showed any changes in line sync and also my IP profile, is there any kind of system with IDnet?
I think that's all for the moment, just have to wait till i get connected now for the real test of speeds etc etc.
Regards
Steve
Hi Steve and welcome to the forum, have a karma. :) :welc: :karmic:
1) With those stats, you should have no problem with Super Max, only change will be your upstream sync and noise margin, the former will go up, the latter will go down.
2) No, IDNet don't have a profile tracking system. Your router stats will tell you most of what you need to know, of course. You might want to think about using Routerstats to plot the information if you feel there's any instability around. http://www.vwlowen.co.uk/internet/files.htm
As soon as IDNet give you your login details, you can go to your accounts page and set up you email, web space, blog space and photo album, btw. These will be active before you migrate.

Ok thanks for that Rik. The profile tracking system was handy but as you rightly said my router stats should tell me what i need and with having a stable line i shouldn't have that much dramas. Could you also tell me what the speeds are like say around 10pm when every man and his dog seems to download? With my previous supplier the Centrals did tend to drop off to around the 2mb mark once ALT kicked in and did stay like that to about 2am.

Steve
Hi Steve
IDNet guarantee no contention within their network and, tbh, I seem to get the same speeds at any time of day, though with occasional exchange congestion being apparent during school holidays. This will affect you less on SuperMax.
I have downloaded at various times of day and night since I joined in October, and I have had no drop in speed whatsoever!
Oh, and :welc: have another :karmic:
And Malc is on SuperMax, iirc, Steve. :)
Cheers for the replies guys, cleared up all that i needed to know. As with any migration there tends to be the little what ifs in the back of the mind, i mean my previous supplier where faultless and a 100% better than virgin who i started off with, but i guess here at IDNet i don't mind paying a little more if the service merits it.
Steve
Hi Jester and :welc:
I'm on SuperMax and with interleaving off it rocks the best gaming ever. I'm sure you will not be dissapointed I dont get the full upload as I have a lower profile :(

You'll find it does, and neither do we, Steve. :)
Yes, I'm on supermax.
Don't play on line, but uploads are perfect over 80mb all the time
Welcome to the forum, Steve!
:welc: Steve! You won't regret the move to IDNet. :thumb:
:welc: :karmic:
As you say, Steve, it's worth paying a little more as the service is second to none. :)
