ISPs following your clicks, and serving up ads "specifically for you" - oh yes they will be!

I suspect this will lead to a division in the ISP market similar to that which happened in the software market, you can have it cheap but with ads, or you can pay more for an ad free version. I know what I would be doing, faced with that choice.
Yep - I can see it heading rapidly down that road with the major ISPs, and I know what my choice would be as well. The trouble is, the major ISPs have the lions share of the market sown up - Mr and Mrs average are always gonna go with the names that they know because they know no better.
