Title: Supermax
Post by: mrapoc on Feb 16, 2008, 19:37:17
I may have already asked this but

1) is there a downgrade fee from supermax back to 'normal' max if i feel it isnt for me?
2) Will i notice better pings due to a better priority?
3) Would my account page display both peak and off peak download so i can see which time period has the most download left etc?

Who else is on it? Is it recommended? I will be paying the extra £10 tho  :(

My gain/my loss kinda thing

How much would it cost to go back to normal max?

I could do with the extra upload for seeding etc. (it would be better gaming too surely?)

Anyone who was on normal max then went to supermax care to testify?

(cheers rik, quick as ever on the f5 button)

I believe it's £15 to downgrade, BT charge a fee to IDNet in both directions, IDNet only pass on the downgrade charge.

Seeding wouldn't definitely benefit, not sure on gaming except for ping times.

ahh k fair enuf

Seeding would benefit due to a higher upload?

Better ping times would be nice - havent seen anything <30ms for a while now

I know nothing about torrents, Sam, but as they both upload and download, the upload portion has to benefit from the extra speed. Ping times are reported to be better due to BT priority, but I've never been on Super to test. Can you identify when your pings slowed?

Well in general they went from being as low as 15 in counter strike, now to as low as 30ish.

Have you done a tracert to see if the routing has changed?

If it's not that, do some pings (Ping Graph is good for doing them over a period - http://www.vwlowen.co.uk/internet/files.htm ) and let support have them to look into.

Seeding does benefit, I get 80's+ always (leecher's permitting of course)
