Does anyone here use mobile broadband on a laptop?
I'm tempted to get it for the tedious ~1hour bus trip home however half the route is covered by 3G and half isn't (guess it would be covered with GPRS), anyone know if these mobile packages (eg T-mobile's Web'n'Walk Plus) are inclusive of any GPRS use aswell?
I'v read GPRS is about the same speed as Dial-up, I could do pretty much anything I wanted with the connection then? Wouldn't be restricted to just emails/browsing?
Having a hard time finding much info on it all really, T-mobiles page doesn't go into much detail. Bit cautious about jumping into a 12month contract without knowing exactly what i'm paying for.
Probly a long shot that anyone knows but figured it might be worth asking. ;)
Can't comment on the technical aspects of this, but have you established what the charges will be?

Pretty steep but i'm willing to pay that if it does everything I want, maybe i'll have to pay a visit to the T-Mobile shop and ask about it, can't seem to find much about it at all.
I'd say give them a call or visit a store. I'd imagine that if there was no 3G coverage it would use GPRS. GPRS is a reasonable speed, and I suspect you'd be more than happy with it for your needs. You might also want to consider 3's Mobile Broadband (http://www.three.co.uk/personal/products_services_/mobile_broadband_/index.omp). :)
