Is there any way to increase the sign in period for the idnet.com webmail service?
I don't know, never having experienced any limit. Can you expand a bit please?
When i sign in to my idnet.com email address via webmail, if i close the page/tab and then reload the webmail site a few minutes later i have to re-enter my username + password. Its not a big deal, just wondering if its possible to increase the amount of time you stay signed in for after you've closed the webmail page :) I suppose kindof like the option you get to stay signed in to this forum 'forever' when you log in.
I'm not aware of the ability to change the setting, and, tbh, I wouldn't want it changed because of the security implications. You could drop support an email, though, they may be able to do something to help you.

Other than a conventional email client, I can't think of one, sorry.
If you use iGoogle there are some widgets you can place on your customised page that will display headers of new messages (there are some specifically for various webmail providers, and some generic that will check any POP email). It's not particularly secure unless you are the only user of that computer, though, as your email password is only a couple of clicks away. Still, if you have a home PC then it might be worth looking at some of these.
Hit the iGoogle link on the top right of the standard Google home page to get started, then search for "email" when you want to add your own content.

No problems! It's my default view of Google now (and my homepage). There are more gadgets you can stick on it than you can shake a stick at.
There's also a thing called ePrompter, which might be worth looking at.

There is a free utility called PopTray that sits in the system tray and checks any number of email accounts for you. It can even highlight important messages for you.
You can also use the utility to view email from the pop box, either in it's raw form or as a plain text. You can delete messages from the servers without them ever reaching your inbox.
There are message kill filters as well. An excellent piece of software. See the web page for full info. I use it all the time.
