Title: Need help/advice setting up a VPN tunnel
Post by: guppy02 on Feb 10, 2008, 12:20:02
I been trying to get a VPN setup between myself and my brothers routers. Both our routers will host a VPN and i tried configuring from both ends as a host. However i still have no clue how to get it to work.

When i created a VPN on both routers my router says tunnels connected but i can't see the networks at either end.

Im not networking whiz so if someone could give me a few pointers, That be great. I have tried changing the IP address range on one end to see if that helped.

Sorry, but I have no idea on PN, never needed to use it. :( Hopefully someone who has will be along shortly.

Does this site help at all:

hehe, sounds like fun! Lots of questions for you but it should be easy enough to get to the bottom of.

First of all, which routers are you using? I assume something like the DG834G ?

Do you both have the same router?

What IP range is each network running on?

For what purpose do you want VPN? (might be a better solution than using the router...)
