I am thinking of switching ISP and moving to IDNet.
Although it seems to offer almost everything I need, I could not find anything about Newsgroups. Are there any?
Also, how do existing users feel about the quality and responsiveness of Tech Support?

Cannot answer the Newsgroup question but support is outstanding, test them out, give them a call.
Welcome to the Forum, have a welcome Karma.
:welc: :karmic:
I'll second that about support, I had problems transferring here - a mixture of BT and pipex errors - which IDNet sorted quickly and efficiently
I'll third it - Tech support is outstanding, even if you are calling for information as a prospective customer.
I've been here well over 12 months and have never had to use support for any problems in that time.
However, I can tell you that I have put a couple of odd questions their way, and they have always been answered quickly and effiicently.
If you want to know how good support is give them a ring.
Ill lay odds it doesn't ring more than 5 times before getting answered.
Oh and they don't use scripts. ;D
And they are located in Hertfordshire (UK-not india) ::)
I can only agree with all of the above. :welc:
Welcome Pintosal. I'll echo what everyone else has said, and add that there is no newsgroup feed within IDNet, most people who want it subscribe to an external source.
I've just transferred over and loving it. :D It only took three days to migrate. I was really impressed.
My - we are a happy bunch ain't we? :)
Usually. :)
Yeah up the IDNET............................
I'm not even connected yet and the support has been brilliant and almost immediate, roll on the 13th.
The people on this forum are really friendly.I'm still in shock at what a gem I stumbled over here.

I use individual.net for newsgroups http://individual.net/register.php . It costs 10 euros a year which is nothing and it's very reliable.
Thanks for the sanity injection, Ann. :)
helps sometimes
ahh 100 posts does that mean my thingy changes now?
No, your thingy changed a while ago - next change is at 250. Have a karma for the hundred though. :)

Will Riks thingy change on 30,000 posts or 200 karmics
I don't have a thingy, Malc, none of the staff do - but if I did I'd be an Ultimate Netter - In is headed that way now. :)
No thingy. Oh ???
Yup, we give up our thingies when we join the staff. Selfless bunch, aren't we. :)
Do you get them back when you leave? Are they stored in jars?
We each have our very own canopic jar by the door. :)
They used to call 'em spittoons!! ::)
;D
They still have 'em in Yates Wine Lodge in Bolton!
No wonder I can feel a draught. :)
Not as I go there, I don't drink, gave it up years ago.
Don't really like the taste, hate the morning after feeling.
I haven't touched alcohol in almost 13 years - it interacts badly with my medication. I miss it very occasionally, but not often.
Not drank for probably 20 years, however chocolate, now that's a different matter.
To remove chocolate would be to remove my life support system. :)
And chips, and roast spuds.
What about chocolate liquers....?!
;)
Chips - yes
Roasties - yes
Liqueurs of any form - no :'(
Well, they are ok, you'd need a lot of them to get drunk.
What I call sweet alcohol is ok now and then, with meals, like Shandy, sweet white wine etc.,
My GP even has to check if there's alcohol, of any form, in anything he prescribes. Allergy about sums it up... :(
Roasties are an art form.
Here's what I do, cut into small pieces, part boil, drain add a bit of flour, shake then put in oven in half inch of oil, on quite high (7).
Any tips Rik, to improve?
You'd have to ask Sue, Malc - I just stand in awe and eat in plenty. ;)
Sounds good to me ;D
Goose fat...
Best. Roasties. Ever!
Must remember that. Thanks

Spot on...good tip. ;)
But were can I buy it, my wife checked at work in Asda last night night and they don't sell it
Waitrose is the only place I've found that seems to keep a small stock in all year round (they go overboard at Xmas with it, rows and rows of the stuff!).
Agreed, I have found that it is only stocked as a seasonal item at most places, silly really.
So many unrubbed chests... :'(
mmmmmmm roasties! >:D
Food - never far away from a thread in IDNetters. :)
Up build my hopes up and now tell me I have to wait till December.
It's like waiting to join IDNet all over again. :'(
