Title: Accounts and debit cards
Post by: Den on Feb 05, 2008, 08:42:52
Accounts and debit cards. Had an email this morning telling me that my bank had refused payment, but when looking further into it it seems that Idnet no longer take payment with debit cards, Why?

I have altered my payment method to be taken direct from my account but feel that we should have been informed about this in some other way, at first I thought the email was a scam and why leave this until the payment is due.

I've not heard anything about this, Den. I would suggest you contact IDNet.

Must admit that when I signed up with IDNet, the fact that they did not do direct debit at that time nearly put me off signing up with them as I believe direct debit gives you more protection. Once I found out that they had started doing DD, I immediately switched over to that from paying with my debit card.

Hi Den

You have a PM on this.

IDNet do still accept debit cards, but there's a change with some banks.

I have fallen into the trap of having a new card, you then have to renew your payment details. Happily IDNet just politely asked me for the money, they did not cut me off as some ISPs would.

Same story here BB, I actually forgot that my details had changed and they hadn't managed to get payment on one occasion, I realised within a few days, and put matters right, but I never heard a word from IDNet.

OK fine  ;D I do not mind DD I was just concerned that the email could have been taken as a scam, it went into my junk mail at first. As soon as I altered my payment details I had confirmation from Idnet and a copy of my invoice all emailed to me. Happy now, thanks Rik have a karma.

As you all know I set up my direct debit as soon as we knew what was going on. Today I had a statement online from Idnet saying I still owe this money, any one else have the same and what is going on?  :o

I'm guessing that the DD has not yet processed, and their accounts system is therefore flagging the payment as overdue, Den. Give them a ring or drop them an email.
