See the announcement from Simon here. (http://www.idnetters.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=5697.msg99869#msg99869)
QuoteBT have announced a rolling program of engineering works, across all exchanges, due to start on 1st Feb through to 20th March. The work will be undertaken between midnight and 6am and will cause up to 20 mins downtime.
Please use this thread for any questions or problems you may encounter. I'll make it 'sticky' until the work is complete.
Thanks for the warning, Simon. Do you have any idea what they are doing?
Not as yet, all they've said is that they're ding these works.
S
Thanks. Do you know if it's going to be like previous maintenance, where each exchange is affected just once in the time span? (Always with the questions. :))

Typical BT!
I believe this is the list of affected exchanges, along with the date. I'm afraid it is in xls (Excel format), but perhaps Rik (or someone else) may be kind enough to PDF it!

I'm not on the list - is that good news or bad news.
Am I missing out on some new super speeds? ???

No sooner said... I note that the dates don't coincide with those from Simon, though.

My exchange is on the first page. Not sure if thats good or bad ? Typical I have just got a set of stats I am happy with and knowing BT they will mess it up big time. :'(

Thanks Rik. I did notice the difference on the dates, but they are close enough for me!

My exchange isn't on the list either.
Mine is, for Feb 1, so if I'm not around...
It could be that BT are adding capacity, or replacing older DSLAMs, we just don't know at the moment. :(
February 1st here as well (Barnet exchange). I don't mind what they're doing as long as they don't break anything.
My thoughts exactly, Sebby, though I was going for a new record on how long I can stay in sync. :)

Isn't that 12 days with the 2Wire? :hide2:
Mine is scheduled for Feb 8th. (http://si6776.www.idnet.com/smileys/dunno.gif)

Mine isn't on there either. Must mean we already have the newer supa-dupa exchange!
edit for typo
Have been with IDNet for about 6 weeks (ex Virgin) and am absolutely delighted with everything.
Regarding the list of exchanges, surely the dates must be wrong as this is 2008.
Hi and welcome to the forum - have a welcome karma
You are entirely right, the dates are for last year and therefore I've pulled the list. I apologise, I should have checked it more carefully.

I'm not so sure, having visited my exchange I can vouch that it is archaic, and it's not in the list either. :D
I think I'll go and hide in the corner now!
 I never noticed either! So, what were they supposed to have done in 2007?
Probably the same thing as they are doing this year. :)
They probably got the dates wrong too!! ;D
No, that was Lance. >:D
