Title: Connection Quality and how to monitor ?
Post by: Scott on Apr 04, 2006, 10:42:01
In this period of speeds, pings and connectivity being a bit up and down I thought this link might be of interest.

L8nc (http://www.l8nc.com/index.php) lets you set up a monitor on your IP address which they then ping every minute and log responses. The graphed results then let you see how your connection is behaving over time (http://tinyurl.com/95rsm)

It also lets you diagnose lots of different potential issues with your connection giving explanations of what a lot of graphs appearances (http://www.l8nc.com/misc/analysis.php) might be down to...

Some of you might find this useful - save sitting there with a dos session open " 'ping' ing -t" away for ages !?

I had a l8ncy ping test running but turned it off pre-Max as I didn`t want to incur any extra overheads on my line while it was in "training". I don`t know if this would have made a difference though and I`m quite curious as to how graph looks post-Max ;)
