Can this be done at anytime? As in February to February for example? Plus what happens if I want to change packages up/down? ;D
Thanks
Afaik, Sam, it can be done at any time. If you later want to change package, I would expect there to be a recalculation, giving you either a refund or a bill.
I was thinking that, errrr, could do with IDnet providing these details in a clear manner
Suggest it to them? :)
Being a tight wad I have just done it. Simon has simply changed my next (monthly) payment to be
altered to the annual fee. Then a year after that IDNet will claim another annual fee. Easy peasy.
Did you ask about the ability to change packages?
the thing is...we wont be able to do the year upfront now (esp xmas) but later its a possibility. Also if parents go to lock-down we may have to downgrade the package...or if i get my way UPGRADE :D
Just out of interest, why do you want to pay the year in advance? Surely paying monthly gives more flexibility? ???
Firstly you get over 8% discount, as a tight wad that is important. One can still cancel and receive a refund (heavens forbid!) if necessary. What's to lose? ???
Oh, I had no idea there was a discount for paying annually. Now it makes a lot more sense! ;)
Yes, you get 12 months for the price of 11 if you pay for the year. I shall apply for it after Christmas. Won't be cruel and send them an email during the holidays.
The discount for me is not worth paying up for a whole year upfront, one month free is not a great incentive over such a period personally, also the point for me is the rolling 30 day contract, as you can never tell what's around the corner ;)
As I'm on the £34.99 package it's a lot to pay at once, but it's nice to have the option.

Options are always nice :)

8%? Better than I can get from the Nationwide. :)

yes but banking an internet are not the same, in two months I may have to move, maybe decide not to have a pc find a new provide if god forbit IDNet fell over a lot there are many variables, I prefer to watch and see, one free month over a whole year on my package is not worth it, its a good offer dont get me wrong, but not for me :)
You don't lose the one month contract. If you leave early you get the unused part of your money back. If we can afford the lump sum upfront then it has to be a good deal.

You mean we're going to have to pay for Gary's connection now, Ann!! :o ;D
My only concern would be, what if, in the highly unlikely event, IDNet went tits up?
Travelscope went in to liquidation yesterday.. :(
It's always a gamble, isn't it In. I doubt it will happen, but none of us can be sure.
I'd imagine there'd be some protection if you'd paid it on a credit card.
There should be, Sebby, normal Consumer Credit Act protection would apply.

You can pay council tax anually. I wish theyed go tits up
You'd have more chance of getting money back from IDNet than you would a local council! ;)
I don't like paying for anything long term without a guarantees these days and we all do enough of that as it is, and I have a rolling 30 day contract with Orange and I'm very happy with that arrangement, as far as IDNet goes they are great but not worth paying for a whole year I may not want, and then have to request a refund is to much hassle to be honest, I am fine leaving things just the way they are with IDNet. Only wish I could pay more services this way. Saving £1.49 a month for me is not really not woth it.
What happens if they put the Monthly price up in the coming year.. Will you have to pay the
difference ?.. If the price goes down, will you get a refund.? I may go for the 12 Months to get it out of the way.

If they put the price up of the Home Max package, whilst I'd understand it was to maintain the current level of service, I'd have to leave. :(
Now if they lowered the premium service to £30 i'd be all over it >:D
But more than £25 for the normal max - i dno where i'd go
:(
I don't think I'd bother if they reduced SuperMax (which I can say with almost 100% certainty isn't going to happen) as I just don't need the extra it provides.
I don't know where I'd go... Possibly back to Entanet.
But anyway, we're talking about something that's probably not going to happen. :P
Knowing IDNet, if there was a change in pricing, they would find an equitable solution for those who had paid in advance.
Historically they have given us more.... for.. no extra payment, so I wouldn't worry too much. ;)
