CCleaner isn't primarily a registry cleaner, though it does some cleaning.

The first "C" stands for cr*p....

RegCleaner is a good one, you can get it from Camieabz's (of AG fame  :-\) site- http://www.camieabz.co.uk/util/regclean.htm or Google for it.

RegSupreme (http://www.macecraft.com/) is excellent value at $12.95.

I personally would'nt use any, but especially CCleaner - id say most users of one of these will get a nasty suprise when it makes a total mess of their registry!

It would make sense to take a registry backup first, before doing anything to it...

i think they are extremely useful - if you can be bothered to have a quick check at wot its deleting

i havent had any problems with cr*p cleaner so i can recommend that

also

try regscrubxp, a favourite amongst the community

got cash? tuneup utilities 2006 includes one (and other cool tools) but at a price

registry mechanic is also good

but the one thing that makes these programs work is common sense  :P

The edit button works in mysterious ways. Initially, for a short while, you can edit without the post being marked as edited. Then, for a while you can edit and the post is marked as edited, then it disappears completely. I haven't worked out the timings yet.

And it is a lichen for those who see an o rather than a p! Me, I saw the p...
