Title: Quicktime critical exploit workaround
Post by: Gary on Dec 05, 2007, 21:14:44
Open QuickTime, select "Edit," then "Preferences." On the tab labeled "Browser," click the "MIME Settings" tab at the bottom, and then on the "+" sign next to "Streaming," and uncheck the box next to RTSP. Click "OK," and then head over to the "File Types" tab and do the same. If using Vista the settings are all under the browser tab I believe. This fix helps mitigate the problem but still be very careful and remember to change the settings when a patch is released.

Thanks, Gary. Apple are probably too busy pushing stock out the door to deal with this as a priority. :(

I get that feeling Rik, but since anything from version 4 up is effected I think, maybe it could be a difficult patch  :-\ I think you are right though
