From what I read, its only downloads which count towards limit, I plan to do a lot of game playing, and not much downloads(though if I had a chance to download I might do it at end of month to reach limit.)
So if I do a lot of gaming it wont count towards my 30 gigs? and what about things like web pages with pics? or if I just go to a page with photos it wont count or is it only when I save the target?
Gaming does count towards your usage and will use approx 25MB per hour (it will be slightly less as i tested with my old isp who counted up and download.)
If you called it 20mb per hour and were on the 2GB cap you could game for 100 Hours.
If i have worked this out correctly this would equate to over 3 hours gaming EVERY day of the month.
I tested the download too as I wondered about the 30 GB restricting my heavy gaming.
It actually downloads 70 MB / hour when gaming non-stop in Red Orchestra, using the ADSL Max which has a 30 GB download limit.
So - it works out you could play for 15 hours every day for a month and that would be around 30 GB.
Not sure if you would be able to speak or think after that though :o
If ever you do go over the limit though they just charge you £1 / GB used so you don't get cut off or anything.

I doubt I will reach it anyway, I had 1 meg Wanadoo last year, with the 30 gig cap, and I never went over once(well I never got contacted) and I no longer download much, and even if I will, it will be before I migrate.
Well Thats me sorted, IDnet it is then! I just have to wait until I get a MAC from Tiscali now, but I cant cancel till tommorow(they say 30 days notice, but I will offer them the cash for that 30 days as I want out now!)
You wont regret the move mate the customer service alone makes it worth the money.
How often do YOU get phoned by a isp's customer support to ask you how your connection is?
Sounds unbelievable but it will happen to you as its happened to us all. ;D
If you have problems with a router for example, ring them up (usually miriam) and turn on remote assistance, come back in 10 mins and its all sorted
Well I signed up to IDnet, but im having problems with getting rid of Tiscali, as offically I have a month left, and they say I cant cancel until then.
I finally got them to agree to cut off my broadband before then, but they wont give me a mac code, they just say they will cut off service.
In the meantime, whats a cheapish but good router(i dont want to go over £80) I currently only have my PC connected to net, but I can borrow a Laptop when my uni course starts so it will help to have a router, my pc has a wireless card in already, I have a XBOX and PS2 and GC, though I havent used them online before.
speedtouch is the only company ive had experience with
