Title: Is there any difference?
Post by: alcav on Dec 02, 2007, 13:10:03
Hi all,

can anyone tell me if there is any difference electronically or otherwise in v2 & V3 Netgear 834g router.

I would like to get one for my son,and notice one or two V2 coming quite cheap on Ebay ;)

Regards.....Alan

I believe the chipsets changed between v2 & 3, from TI to Broadcom, iirc.

Functionally, there's little or no difference.

Turns out the broadcom chip is for the wifi side Rik after further investigation, also they had to change materials used to bring it in line with new the regulations for electronic goods and dangerous metals etc
