Just wondering if there's any online poker players on here? Maybe we could get a private tournament set up on one of the sites and even start a league if there was enough interest.
I've been playing for a few years and love the game, I mainly play cash games at the $0.50/$1 level and also some MTT's and Sit & GO's.
not played it online.
just with a couple friends whose got a poker set 4/5 times.
i can spend money quite easily enough without losing it online gambling. :o
not to mention the wife spending it !

Great fun though and if you get enough practice you'll be making a profit not loosing. I also play live sometimes at the local casino, won an online satellite last year and got an all expenses paid trip to St Kitts to play the tournaments there. Just had my biggest online score in a 1050ish player tournament came 1st and cashed for $8,500 so am feeling pretty confident at the moment.

To be honest you can only teach so much after that it's experience. A lot of the sites offer free tournaments that pay real money (freerolls) so you can get started for no investment. I was quite lucky when I started (about 5 years ago), I played on a site that had just launched and they were offering some really attractive freerolls with not many players in and big'ish prize pools so I have never put a penny of my own money in and have just built up my bankroll from there.
There's plenty of money to me made at the small to mid stakes levels. Once you get a good amount of experience it's fairly easy money, as with all gambling though you have down swings as well as up.
Only problem is, I think the only two cards games I know are Happy Families and Patience. :(
