I play Battlefield 2 and love it. I wondered who else plays this game and would also like to see an Idnet BF2 server?

I've rented a 16 player server from 4u-servers.co.uk for a few months, was only £84. It should be online this week so I'll give out the IP for anyone who wants to get together when it's live.
It's just to see how it goes and also as they're a UK based company it means a lot of the players are from UK so low pinging players and servers alike. On their site you can get a server list, which is live, so nice to catch up with UK players too.
Makes it a bit more complicated with the time difference I find playing and meeting up with USA players etc on a regular basis.
I'm not really starting a clan, just getting players together, starting on here as I'm sure you're aware the team-play element in BF2 makes it a game in itself.
I've played in a few different clans, back in the days of team Fortress Classic and BF 1942 aswell.

Only problem - my new house is a long way from any adsl-enabled exchange so I'm (eventually) going onto a Mesh wireless network = <> 100ms pings :-[
No way I'm coming into some UK server and lagging the helloutta you all ! Might just need to host a LAN where I live - see if anyone else has the bug :D
BF 2 looked ok...but then EA stuffed their grubby little fingers into it....and ruined it with patches that cr*p the hell out of servers.
Dont worry Scott......just go and play with the Yanks...they love us Brits lagging their servers :D (plus its a way of getting all ranks, medals etc etc extremely easy ) ;D

Lordy ! Tell me about it...I had a hyoooge email war with them after buying BF2. Installed and had been playing for a few weeks then a terminal disk failure forced a rebuild. Reinstall went fine then tried to put on BF2 + the seemingly myriad patches that had appeared during my downtime...could I get it to take !? Could I heck !! And their CS was utterly utterly appalling...droning script monkeys..'do this, do that, have you emptied your cache ?' Argh agghhh...give me something to shoot NOWWWW !
Turned out not to be BF2 related at all, but that execrable piece of filth they've shipped with it...PB ! It's cruddy update process had been corrupted during the install without reporting an error and hence every patch that checked PB verity failed hopelessly !
Happily am over it now ! Just have to get it onto my new machine arriving later today hopefully !
