Just testing.
Is it working? ;D
It is now. :)
That's what I like to hear!
Seems much faster as well (http://members.shaw.ca/wenpigsfly/smileys/thumb.gif)
Indeed it does, Ray - I think we were causing the old server to have a nervous breakdown. :)
Well done, guys!
Test
No smilies working though and had to login again

Can you try clearing your cache please? Do you not see the smileys, or can you just not insert them?
Smilies OK here, Rik ;)
Thanks, Ray, which forum theme?

Thanks, Ray, which forum theme?
The Forum default one, Rik.
Thanks. Is PM working OK for you - I'll send you one, just give me a sec...
Rik,
cache cleared but same.
I see the empty boxes and descriptions of the smilies but no graphics............
Weird.........

ReD

I don't have IE6 on this machine, but IE7 is OK, as is FF.
Mmmm,
Did not install IE7 cos at the time it was way buggy..............
Strange that the forum move has done this, I have checked other forums I access and they are fine.
Nvm, dont use them much anyway !!
ReD
MAABOF
I'm just firing up another machine to check IE6, Red. Back in a mo.
:(
I have smileys in IE6 too.
I don't know what to suggest, tbh. Anyone else got any thoughts?
Thx for trying,
The actual link does not work so that is the problem for me pasting the angry one for example into a new IE window shows page not found...............

Odd, the link works fine for me (and presumably, Ray).
I've just logged in using my 'test' account, so privileges shouldn't be an issue - that's fine too. I'll ask around. :(
Its got to do with a cache issue.......

Try flushing your DNS Cache with this command ipconfig /flushdns ReD to see if that helps, and clear your cookies and cache as well, I have smileys working ok here :banana2: also a reboot never goes amiss

I think that's there to allow some re-direction to the new server, but I'm seeing the same and the smileys are working OK for me.
I'll keep asking.

I'm waiting to speak to Martin, Red, and will post once I have done. What AV/Firewall are you running? I just wonder whether the latter, in particular, might have something to do with it. Lance suggests you delete all temp files (Tools > Internet Options > General tab > Delete files button.)
Rik,
Deleted ALL file and files, cookies and offline content
I use NIS 2005

I'm out of ideas, tbh, Red. If it works for some people, it should work for everyone. I'll talk to Martin as soon as he's available and post back. I'll PM you at the same time so you don't have to keep checking the thread.
Martin's been down in the bowels of the forum, hitting the server with his club hammer, Red, and we think you should now be OK. Can you confirm please?

Sometimes it's best not to upgrade to IE7 when using Windows XP as it's sometimes incompatible. >:D >:D >:D ;D
I confess I never have done, but the newest machine came with IE7 pre-installed... At least it gives me one more browser to test. :)
glad to see its all back to normal now. ;D
You missed all the 'fun', Steve. :)
Did I miss something? ;D
Yup. Disk got full, so we got given a new, larger and more powerful, server this morning. Instant migration with a few teething problems, now in our new zippy home. :)

Well, it seems we have a lot to smile about! :)
What are these smellies you are going on about? Who said we smell?
Just you wait, Jill, there will be more around soon. ;)
Smellies? ;D

i was busy having a day off ;D
lie in after a hard night out at our local indian with quite a few sambucca's :o ;D
I don't know how to break this to you, but Sambucca is an Italian liqueur... ;)
you are correct ;D so you dont have to break anything :o
they give free sambucca and tia maria at the end of your meal.
and as we know them and go quite often they just leave the sambucca bottle on the table ;D

Since when has Idnetters been normal? ;D :hide: :out:
OK another one for you and the new forum,
I have to log in everytime I visit the forum, even if I select forever as the login option so somehow it dont like the cookie.
Every other forum I visit once logged in with the same option has no problem from then on.

You may have to re-allow the cookie in your browser, as I think the url of the forum has changed since the server move. If you are using Firefox, the cookie may be only being allowed for one session by default. You need to allow it to be stored, in order to stay logged in.
Exactly right, Simon, the forum is generating a new set of cookies.
can i please have 3 choc chip ones to go with my cappuccino

After the upgrade even though I don't use it but it is safer then 6 supposedly ::) I did a chkdsk, 568 errors after updating, there were 12 before as I had run chkdsk before to make sure all was ok, so if anyone does upgrade who has not, do a chkdsk, after updating, after all Microsoft is not compatible with hardware either >:D
