Have not been around here for a while. But I thought I would give a quick update. I have still been having problems with my broadband so they were called out again today. Before BT vist sync speed 4096KBPS and a line attenuation of 48.9. The BT chap came and put me on to a brand new cable in the exchange (no 5 I think he said) now I am getting this.
DSL Line (Wire Pair): Line 1 (inner pair)
Protocol: G.DMT Annex A
Downstream Rate: 6432 kbps
Upstream Rate: 448 kbps
Channel: Interleaved
Current Noise Margin: 9.0 dB (Downstream) 23.0 dB (Upstream)
Current Attenuation: 42.5 dB (Downstream) 27.0 dB (Upstream)
Current Output Power: 19.7 dBm (Downstream) 11.9 dBm (Upstream)
DSLAM Vendor Information: Country: {0x0F} Vendor: {ALCB} Specific: {0x00}
PVC Info: 0/38
So at last a decent line :). There is hope for all of you with poor lines
Trouble is, Bill, I think I'd need a few flying pigs before BT would put in new backhaul here. :'( Congratulations on your result, though. :)
me to rik!
Congratulations Bill  It's about time. :)
Congrats Bill! So, will you be staying put on your current ISP, or moving back this way?

Not sure at the moment. Both ISPs are great so its a very hard choice. I will see how things are once the min term is up.
who did you go with after leaving us Bill?
Lets just say they were very Fast. ;D
So long as they're not too Fast4 you, Bill. :)
Ho Ho Ho :puke: :hide: ;D
No they were just Fast enough for me.
This is starting to sound like the Fast Forum, do Fast have a forum of their own?? >:D
Yes. But you have to be very quick. ;D
;D
Not to be confused with the Fast4 forum, where you're likely to be very very slow...
Slow I thought that was Oranges new name.
;D
One of many, Bill. The rest would be caught by the swear filter. ;)
I think it would be extremely usefull if Bill let on how to get BT to keep visiting, and performing, without paying £160 a time??
Or did he?? :o
Mo
No I did not pay them. I was very lucky the chap had come out a couple of months ago and changed my cable with next doors who did not have broadband. So as he said the only other thing to try was a new cable. Anyway its working a treat no loss of sync, no DSL retrains. Just how it should be. :)
Well done, now perhaps you can relax Bill.
Thanks,
Yes its been a very strange year but in the last few weeks have managed to sort out some big issues in my life and the BB works a treat as well . So to coin a phrase " The futures bright the futures Idnet " ;D

So you've decided to come back then!?
I am tied in with a min contract for another month or so but after that I still have a lot credit which I paid up fron to use up.
This is more like it. ;D

You have a better line then a lot of people now bill :)
Now for the big test. Have just requested that Interleaving is turned off. Hope the new line holds up as well. So far it has been fault free. (TOUCH WOOD KEEPING EVERYTHING CROSSED )
