Title: WiFi TP Link 5G set up
Post by: peasblossom on Sep 17, 2026, 08:24:29
Tricky to know if this should be in the mobile section or here. Anyway. Wrestling a little with getting my usually trusty mobile to connect to the home WiFi (it's fine now, by the way) I see I have a 5G option. How do you set a password up for that? It won't accept the one I use for the non 5G option.

By 5G are you referring to the password your phone needs to connect via 5 GHz WiFi?

Yes.

That should be in your router settings. My IDNet supplied ASUS RT-AX-AX53U router came preconfigured with the same password for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. If you have the same router it's on the first page you see after login, left hand side. Otherwise you'll need to navigate to the appropriate area in your router to retrieve or set a new password.

If you can't find what you are looking for leave a post with your router type and I'm sure someone here will be able to help with the necessary details :)

Thanks. I've found the manual online. (I wasn't sure if I needed to set it up on my phone or my laptop so your answer is helpful.)
