My connection was setup today, Saturday 22nd July, but it keeps dropping every 5 mins or so.
I have tried it withoud micro filter and only got the broadband in the main phone socket, nothing else.
I use a Speedtouch 330 USB modem.
Thanks in advance
Andy
The Speed Touch modem stops working after a while?
This is usually due to a PC powering down the USB ports while going into power save mode. Try upgrading the Modem's drivers and/or disabling all the power saving options both in Windows and in the BIOS settings. To confirm if it's a power saving problem keep a ping –t command running which will keep the USB port active, if it does not stop working then power saving looks very likely.
Thanks for your reply.
All my powers saving options are off.
The USB connection to the modem always stays on, it is just the connection that drops and the light flashes red then green. It soon comes back on after a few seconds but it's a real problem disconnecting constantly.
I am going to try a new modem as this one is a few years old, see if that's any better.
Cheers
Andy
Let us know how it goes Andy...always useful background

You are in the 10 day training period (you will see this mentioned in several posts on dropped connections) give it time and it should become more stable.
I was lucky my connection was fine from day one but i have lost count of the threads that start with "connection keeps dropping" so you are not alone mate.
Hang in and all will be fine.

If you do not use it already, you must use the High Speed (to 8M) driver for the Speedtouch 330.
Assuming you use Windows you can download it here;

Make sure you get the Hi/Speed one Andy
Good Luck
;D
Sorry to use this thread, but its more space freindly :)
I also get disconnected around 3 times a day (AVG). Im not in a 10 day period or anything like that. However, the drops rarely happen when im using the connection, but almost always happen during non-usage?!
Im almost sure the drop sare due to SNR Falling, as the speeds also sometimes resync slightly lower & lower, but not all the time. The router im using is a Safecom SART2-4115.
I have a USR-9003 if thats any use to diagnose :/
Thnx
Buy a Netgear Andy, I bet that clears up your problem ;)
Avenger, same with you :)
