Hi, folks.
Hopefully, this is a suitable board for this....
I've been an IDnet subscriber in the past, but have changed to other providers because of various circumstances. I'm contemplating a return but I'd like to know the experience of others with regard to the subject line of this posting.
Presently I'm a Plusnet customer and I've had absolutely no problems with service from them whatsoever both in terms of speed and ping times. However, I don't really want to be giving money to a company which is essentially part of a big multinational who make enough money as it is.
Now despite my age (life has officially begun!), I'm a keen gamer and enjoy various online games, some of which are advantaged by having a decent ping time. So...
What it's your experience of ping times as an IDnet customer, and specifically for Overwatch if possible? I'm fortunate that my FTTC rates are 60/20, so I have no worries on that score.
Thank you in advance.
Welcome to the forum. :)
I'm not a gamer, so can't really help with your specific query, but I'm sure someone will be along soon who can.

I'm not a gamer but my average ping times are 17.57ms. I'm not on a particularly good line but speeds and pings have been consistent ever since I've been on fibre. Not being a gamer I find it's fine, but there may be some improvement if I moved to iDNet's gaming offer, since that would bring more direct connections to gaming servers.
Welcome to Netters!
I currently live out in the sticks connected by antiquated infrastructure that have been around since the 60s. Although I had lower latency when I lived in London what I have here is easily good enough to competitive playing World of Warcraft. I do occasionally stand in fire but that's more to do with my advancing years than any connection issues ;D

As long as your local infrastructure is sound I would expect you to have a good gaming experience with IDNet. You might be interested in this which is something new: http://gaming.idnet.uk/
My pings are good 8ms to London, on depleted 62.17 which is now 55/16 due to a pair swap for a tiny battery fault (OR swap pairs they rarely fix the issues till no pairs are left) but still a great connection. The gaming package looks good I'm not sure how much traffic priority really helps, but for myself the cost is prohibitive. IDNet offer a great service for online gaming either way though.
